Why did they want to do it? We hoped to establish and promote a healthy school environment for kids, publicity for the GreenAcademy and Green Club, and raise money.
Background
How did they accomplish their goal? 1. Planted seeds in flats and kept them in the greenhouse. 2. Once seeds sprouted and plants were big enough, they were transplanted to the garden and into 6-packs. 3. Order forms were passed out to teachers and parents.
What were their results? Results included a profit of $200 and an increased awareness of our program, the Green Academy and the school garden.
What are their future plans? We are planning to sell our fresh, organic produce to district Food Services for the salad bar, with our ultimate goal to promote student health.
